Hairspray - Em Busca da Fama

Eu acho ótimo quando vou ao cinema sem nenhuma expectativa e acabo saindo com um largo sorriso de satisfação. Foi isso que aconteceu quando fui ver o contagiante Hairspray há alguns dias atrás. Não se trata apenas de uma grata surpresa. Hairspray é divertido, conta com um elenco inspiradíssimo e deliciosas seqüências musicais. O timing é ótimo, mais perfeito impossível e Shankman acerta a mão em todas as cenas, sejam nas de dancinhas, seja no discurso anti-racista, que por fugir do moralismo idiota e superficial que permeia tantas produções hollywoodianas, nem soa assim como um discurso.

Bem, eu fui sem expectativas ver o filme, por se tratar de uma obra de Adam Shankman (diretor dos capengas A Casa Caiu, Doze É Demais 2, Operação Babá e Um Amor Para Recordar). Mas se Shankman nunca conseguiu acertar na comédia e na sua incursão pelo romance errou feio, no musical ele mostra sua maestria.

Outra coisa que me incomodava é que John Travolta vestido de mulher era um tremendo dum golpe de marketing. Em algum momento Hairspray ficou sendo conhecido como "o filme que trazia Travolta travestido".

Mas felizmente vale à pena. Hairspray foge de piadas e saídas fáceis. O elenco é dos mais brilhantemente escolhido dos últimos tempos. Afinal unir a excelência de Christopher Walken, a naturalidade de John Travolta, o brilho de Queen Latifah, a graciosidade de Amanda Bynes, a competência de Michelle Pfeiffer, o carisma de James Marsden além dos novatos Brittany Snow, Zac Efron e Nikki Blonsky (que me cativou desde a primeira vez em que vi o trailer do filme), todos muito a vontade em seus papéis, parece toque de gênio.

A trilha sonora é um show a parte. Você sai do cinema cantarolando as musiquinhas e morrendo de vontade de comprar o cd da trilha.

É bom ver que às vezes Hollywood aposta na despretensão e acaba bem sucedido. Quem dera houvessem mais filmes como Hairspray. Pode até não ser um dos melhores filmes do ano, mas, com certeza, será lembrado por mim na hora de fazer a listinha dos filmes do ano.

Mas o que importa mesmo é que Hairspray vale uma ida ao cinema. Aposto que você vai sair cantarolando ao final da sessão e completamente encantado pela rechonchuda Nikki Blonsky.
